As a service provider to large and small corporations, VACAVA has faced the challenges of needing to exchange information with a variety of applications and information sources.  When there are industry standard methods for the exchange available, such as Web Services or Application Program Interfaces (API’s), it’s relatively easy to interface with other sources of information.  However, there are many times when the standard methods are not available.
 
VACAVA Web Integrator (VACAVA WI) is designed to allow the integration of your application with any web site and web delivered application that does not have other industry standard connection methods available. 
 
As an example: Call Centers that take inbound orders for their customers are sometimes required to input the orders into their customer’s website. Web sites however frequently have no means to programmatically accept the order.  The Agent must first enter the order in the Call Center script and then key the order in again into their customer’s web site.  “I’ve been told that it’s sometimes so unproductive, that call centers turn away this type of business unless they are very large customers” said Terry Bird, VACAVA President. “VACAVA WI solves this problem and allows growth in business areas that have been previously not cost effective”.
 
There are 2 main VACAVA WI components:
  • Web Integrator Record – The Recorder allows you to easily record a path through the target web site, generating a script.  The script provides a template where an application can provide the variables for the target web site; e.g. SKU, Product Price, Quantity, etc.
  • Web Integrator Emulator – The Emulator uses the script to manipulate the target web site to input the data and/or retrieve information.
